Ever wonder whether Furman's focus on sustainability is full of crap?
Well, its new Sustainability Master Plan does propose to utilize manure from the Greenville Zoo as part of a campus composting program.
Earlier this month, Furman's Board of Trustees approved "Sustainable Furman," the university's official title for the Sustainability Master Plan.

Are you interested in volunteering to help rebuild hurricane-torn New Orleans? Or exploring Hispanic culture with your taste buds? What about using computer simulations to virtually explore historical communities?
These are just three of the over 40 May Experience courses that will be offered this year. The courses will be posted with full descriptions on the May Experience website on Nov. 20 and registration will begin on a first-come, first-served basis on Nov. 30.

As 7 p.m. approached in the Hartness Pavilion on Wednesday, Nov. 11, three volunteer members of the Student's Voice Committee and eight representatives of Furman Auxiliaries (Dining Services, University Center businesses, golf course, etc.) gathered in an informal, roundtable setting to discuss possible changes at the bookstore and in renovation plans for the UC.

The sound of cannon fire rang clearly along the length of Furman Mall at around 5:00 p.m. on Nov. 11, 2009. As veterans and other spectators surrounded the flagpole in front of the Herman W. Lay Physical Activities Center for the formal ceremony, cadets of the Furman United States Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps lowered the American flag.

Thus began the question and answer session in the Burgiss Theater at Nov. 10's WHINSEC/SOA debate. The night's panel pitted supporters of the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation against those who called for the institute's immediate disbandment.
